📋 Description

• Own product problems from discovery through design, prototyping, launch, and measurement • Understand user problems using user conversations, data, and the product • Build working prototypes independently with AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and Replit • Define product hypotheses and expected metrics before starting work • Measure whether product metrics moved after launch • Own specific product branches in partnership with the product manager • Create simple, consistent design solutions with careful spacing, typography, states, and edge-case handling • Work on SmartyMe, a mobile educational app used by more than one million users • Communicate design decisions in Slack, Figma, and live sessions • Participate in portfolio screening, recruiter screening, partnership-fit and team-fit interviews, and a live working session using an incomplete SmartyMe problem

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of product design experience, including mobile apps • Hands-on product design experience on real products, ideally mobile-first consumer apps • Working-prototype development with AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Replit, or similar; this is a requirement • Ability to express work as hypotheses, including expected change, approximate magnitude, and failure indicators • Comfortable designing AI-powered functionality and adapting to shifting hypotheses • Figma proficiency: components, auto layout, variants, prototyping, and versioning • High ownership and accountability for outcomes • Proactivity and ability to identify and initiate work • Comfort with ambiguity and underdefined problems • Preference for shipping rough working versions early • Strong attention to design craft, including spacing, clarity, copy, and details • Ability to communicate design decisions directly in Slack, Figma, and live sessions • Ability to make decisions with incomplete information • EdTech, wellness, or habit-building product experience is a plus • Experience with activation and retention work, games or content-heavy products, design systems, or independently shipped products is nice to have
