📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents/learning coaches • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with principals, coaches, administrators, teacher trainers, and other teachers • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) English Teaching Certification • If certification is from another state, provide proof of New Mexico license application within 7 days of the start date and obtain an approved New Mexico teaching license within 90 days • Ability to clear the required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group desired • Experience supporting adults and children using technology desired • Experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment desired • Experience with online learning platforms desired • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to work a schedule typically 9-5 or 8-4, as defined by the school
