📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues • Provide basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Travel approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) English Teaching Certification required • Residency in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C. • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching in an online and/or brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
