📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students, parents, and learning coaches • Support parents and learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • English teaching certification for grades 8–12 • If certified in another state, obtain reciprocity within Indiana within 60 days of employment • Ability to clear the required background check • Indiana residency • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children using technology • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teaching certification and professional-development hours • Fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to collaborate with other teachers and receive regular coaching
