📋 Description
• Deliver high school math course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, guidance, and individualized learning support • Monitor student progress through the learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches to advance learning goals • Take ownership of academic progress and attendance • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Conduct at least 15 hours per week of live synchronous teaching • Provide asynchronous support through emails, course planning, learning plans, and data analysis • Collaborate on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development • Augment course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools • Submit grades and student work; maintain the grade book • Make placement and promotion decisions and report student progress concerns • Build positive relationships and communicate regularly with families • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic computer questions • Collaborate with teachers to support student progression and distribute stakeholder tasks • Organize social and educational activities, including virtual clubs and outings • Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams • Comply with school policies, procedures, and applicable laws • Help with onboarding efforts and participate in committees as required
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Meet requirements for a licensed teacher under the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code • Pedagogical knowledge of the content taught and ability to apply critical thinking • Knowledge of state content standards • Ability to adapt to change and solve problems independently • Strong organization and deadline management across multiple projects • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Ability to travel as required, averaging once per month or approximately 10% of the time • Reliable high-speed internet access • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification and professional development hours • Fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to pass a required background check • Experience with the proposed age group preferred • Experience supporting adults and children using technology • Experience working in a virtual environment • Experience teaching online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar • Experience with Blackboard Collaborate or other online platforms
