📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school math course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs and monitor progress through the learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week • Provide asynchronous support by composing emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, and using data to determine student needs • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Collaborate on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development • Augment course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools • Submit grades and required student work; maintain the grade book; make placement and promotion decisions • Establish positive rapport and communicate regularly with students, families, and learning coaches/parents • Support families with curricular, instructional, and basic computer questions in a virtual classroom • Organize social and educational activities, virtual clubs, outings, and extracurricular activities • Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams • Build community, assist with onboarding, and participate in committees as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Meet requirements for a licensed teacher under the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code • Highly qualified, state certified educator • Pedagogical knowledge of content being taught and ability to apply critical thinking • Knowledge of state content standards • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 10% of the time • Access to reliable high-speed internet • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to pass required background check • Must reside in Ohio • Ohio Secondary Math Teaching Certificate (Integrated Math preferred)
