📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school math course content in an online environment • Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning according to individual student needs • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with other teachers to interpret student data and inform instructional decisions • Travel as required, averaging once per month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Required certificate/license: Math • If current teaching certification is from another state, obtain reciprocity in West Virginia within 60 days of employment • Strong preference for West Virginia residents • May consider residents of Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Delaware, or Virginia • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work school hours, typically 9–5 or 8–4, or as defined by the school • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children using technology • Experience teaching online/virtual and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
