📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school science course content for grades 9–12 in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs and monitor progress through the learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/Learning Coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Take ownership of student academic progress and attendance • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week • Provide asynchronous support, including emails, course-objective planning, learning plans, and data-driven determination of student needs • Collaborate on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development • Augment course content under administrative guidance using synchronous and asynchronous tools • Submit grades and required student work while ensuring academic honesty and integrity • Maintain the grade book • Make placement and promotion decisions using formal and informal student-progress reports • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and parents/Learning Coaches • Support students and Learning Coaches with basic computer questions when requested • Collaborate with teachers to ensure student progress and distribute stakeholder tasks • Respond to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner • Organize social and educational activities, including virtual clubs, outings, and extracurricular activities • Travel to testing sites to proctor state exams • Comply with school policies, procedures, and applicable laws • Build community, support onboarding efforts, and participate in committees as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Ohio State Teaching Certification, High School Science (Integrated Science preferred) • Meet requirements for a licensed teacher under the Ohio Revised Code and Ohio Administrative Code • Pedagogical knowledge of content being taught and ability to apply critical thinking • Knowledge of state content standards • Ability to embrace change/adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Ability to solve problems independently and maintain a high level of organization • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 10% of the time • Access to reliable high-speed internet • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to pass required background check
