📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide rich and engaging synchronous learning experiences • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus instruction on students’ individual needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Apply knowledge of the K12 curriculum, Online School, and state and industry-specific learning standards • Augment course content using appropriate tools and develop instructional lessons aligned with the school pacing schedule • Contact students regularly by email or phone and respond to inquiries, usually within one business day • Participate in academic-focused meetings with associated school administrators and scheduled virtual staff meetings • Establish and maintain positive rapport with students • Monitor and report academic and pacing progress, generate formal reports, and alert administrators to concerns about progress and attendance • Organize orientation, training, social, and educational activities for students and families • Create a monthly newsletter or update the website as needed • Lead student/parent orientations as needed • Assess students according to policy • Travel occasionally to school functions, such as state testing, or as otherwise required

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education High School (9-12) Science Teaching Certification required • Bachelor’s degree • One (1) year industry experience leading to certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Appropriate subject teaching certification • Shared view of the virtual academy’s mission • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults as well as students • Excellent knowledge of motivational techniques • Strong organizational, problem solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills • Willingness and ability to obtain additional state licensing as required • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Microsoft Office and web proficiency • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time • Ability to pass required background check • Internet service with modem/router • High-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload • Ability to work typically 20–25 hours per week, with possible fewer or additional hours based on business needs • Availability during daytime business hours (8am–5pm ET, Monday–Friday) as required
