📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content and rich, engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on each student’s mastery level • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from the principal and coach • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to student performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required, averaging once per month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school functions • Collaborate with other teachers to use student data for instructional decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Virginia Secondary Science Teaching Certificate • Bachelor’s degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Must reside in Virginia preferred; candidates residing in Washington, DC or Maryland may be considered • Must be able to attend in-person professional development, testing, and other school events • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group desired • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology desired • Experience teaching online/virtual or in a brick-and-mortar environment desired • Experience with online learning platforms desired • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
