• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Communicate with parents and related service staff to coordinate appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify lessons and assessments according to student IEPs • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and support academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting • Travel up to 20% for professional development, student testing, or school requirements
• Bachelor's degree • Active State Special Education teaching license • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Ability to clear required background checks • Certification in Special Education • If certification is from another state, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during working hours • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Experience with the proposed age group • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to collaborate with other teachers and use student data to drive instructional decisions • Ability to support adults and children in the use of technology
