📋 Description

• Work with grades 6–8 students with learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities • Ensure lessons and teaching strategies meet students’ needs • Teach independent living, literacy, communication, and math skills • Modify and/or adapt the K12 curriculum to align with state content standards • Write and maintain compliant IEPs • Collaborate with general education teachers to meet student goals • Educate parents on instructional strategies • Prepare appropriate documentation • Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings • Proctor achievement testing and other required testing, including alternative assessments • Collaborate with related services teams to develop and monitor IEP goals • Travel for professional development and testing

🎯 Requirements

• State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License • Bachelor Degree • Minimum 1 year classroom experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.) • Web proficiency • Ability to clear required background check • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong presentation skills • Organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities • Ability to work without direct supervision • Flexible schedule • Ability to travel as needed, up to 30% of the time • Ability to meet travel requirements • Willingness and ability to obtain Ohio Certification • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ohio residency preferred; applicants from Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana may be considered within 100 miles of the Ohio border
