📋 Description

• Deliver specific middle school English course content in an online environment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous instruction, support, and guidance • Manage the learning process and personalize learning for individual student needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • English certification/license requirement; out-of-state certification requires West Virginia reciprocity within 60 days of employment • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group preferred • Experience supporting adults and children with technology preferred • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment preferred • Experience with online learning platforms preferred • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum • Must travel as required, averaging once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time
