📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding student therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required state-specific documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use accommodations, modifications, assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEPs • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active State Special Education teaching license • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Ability to clear required background check(s) • Strongly prefer residents of West Virginia; may consider residents of KY, PA, OH, MD, DE, or VA • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work during typical school hours, 9-5 or 8-4, or as defined by the school • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
