📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s IEP • Communicate with parents and related service staff to ensure appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and make placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches and parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Texas Special Education Certification • Texas residency required • Bachelor’s degree • Active state Special Education teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office • Ability to work Central Time hours, typically 8am–5pm • Ability to collaborate with teachers and interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Receptiveness to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Desired: experience with the proposed age group • Desired: experience supporting adults and children with technology • Desired: online or brick-and-mortar teaching experience • Desired: experience with an online learning platform
