Subsense is building the Nano-BCI: a non-surgical, nanoparticle-based brain–computer interface platform designed to read and write neural signals. Their approach combines biocompatible nanoparticles (delivered intranasally and navigated to target brain regions) with a wearable headset that wirelessly controls and communicates with those particles, creating a bidirectional neurotechnology stack. The company is initially focused on tightly controlled clinical and research use to treat neurological disorders (notably Parkinson’s disease and drug-resistant epilepsy), has opened a Palo Alto/Mountain View lab, has begun early FDA engagement, and has reported seed funding rounds. Subsense states its products are not yet authorized or cleared by the FDA.

📋 Description

• Advance and finalize the brandbook • Build and maintain the Figma library, including templates, components, icons, chart styles, and brand assets • Maintain the master pitch deck and make fast slide edits for fundraising • Build one-pagers and data room documents • Create keynote and conference slides for the CEO and scientists • Create reusable presentation templates for the team • Produce monthly static social posts, carousels, infographics, and simple motion for LinkedIn and X • Create event and conference materials including banners, booth graphics, sponsor assets, signage, badges, and printed programs • Create billboard and digital advertising creative from concept to print-ready files • Create artwork and tech packs for merchandise • Deliver editable native files that are named and versioned in the shared drive • Explain complex science and company vision through human, calm, and clinically credible visual design • Complete three short design tasks and present the approach in a recorded Loom video if shortlisted

🎯 Requirements

• Portfolio showing brand systems, ideally including decks and print • Fluency in Figma and Canva • Comfort with Google Slides • Experience using AI image and video tools in workflow • Ability to clarify messy requests before starting • Care for typography, spacing and restraint • Curiosity about neuroscience, biotech or deep tech • Reachability during California business hours (Pacific Time) • Ability to turn quick adjustments around the same day • Experience with scientific or medical visuals (nice to have) • Packaging, merch or environmental design experience (nice to have) • Submit portfolio, weekly availability, and responses to four application questions
