• Write original content for publication and communication activities, including primary and review manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, meeting summaries, and other materials for healthcare professional and internal audiences • Analyze, interpret, and apply clinical data to produce high-quality scientific communications • Prepare materials according to internal writing guidelines, client-specific style guidelines, compliance best practices, and journal style guidelines • Follow internal workflow, deliverable development, industry best practices, and GPP3 procedures • Demonstrate flexibility to function on different therapeutic teams as needed • Maintain a proactive approach on initiatives for existing and prospective clients • Collaborate with team members to manage workload and develop and follow attainable project timelines • Attend team meetings, provide input, and aid in troubleshooting and problem-solving • Collate and incorporate author and client comments accurately and efficiently • Participate in author and client teleconferences and answer content-related questions • Lead author teleconferences as necessary • Review and revise medical writers’ and freelance writers’ work as necessary • Participate in brainstorming sessions and strategic publication-planning meetings • Attend advisory boards and roundtables to record and synthesize meetings into formal reports • Support new business presentations by researching, analyzing, and synthesizing pharmacologic attributes, clinical data, and market research into strategic applications • Attend and participate in new business presentations as appropriate • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce quality work within timelines and develop solutions to client needs • Keep management apprised of key departmental concerns and issues • Represent the organization appropriately and contribute to company goals, values, team culture, and internal communications
• PhD, PharmD, or MD • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical communications • Substantial professional medical writing experience in a wide variety of communication formats • Ability to work independently on assigned projects • Demonstrate a command of assigned therapeutic areas and expertise with assigned products • Ability to travel as client needs require, including client meetings, congress meetings, and sales meetings • Ability to attend and conduct virtual or in-person presentations • Ability to commit to extra and/or nontraditional hours as client needs require • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of scientific and medical accuracy • Established track record of high-quality medical communications outputs, such as manuscripts, posters, and physician/patient materials • Expertise in multiple therapeutic areas • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Synchrony is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role
