📋 Description

• Define Roon’s product strategy, target users, and differentiation • Determine how to grow the audience while retaining current paying listeners • Research users through direct conversations, community forums, support tickets, reviews, and product data • Translate strategy into a prioritized feature set • Own and sequence the roadmap across multiple quarters • Build implementation plans and clear specifications with engineering • Instrument key product behaviors and define success metrics • Build interactive prototypes using AI tooling • Set and defend the product quality bar in partnership with design • Investigate the codebase to understand current behavior, business rules, constraints, and edge cases • Create research pipelines, internal tools, automations, and evaluation harnesses • Collaborate with engineers, a designer, and senior leadership as the most senior product leader on Roon

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in product management, including having owned the strategy for a whole product or business rather than a feature area • Personal connection to music through serious, long-standing involvement as a collector, musician, producer, DJ, critic, or close listener • Clear sense of product quality and direction, with judgment to choose between competing versions and explain the reasoning • Daily use of AI in research synthesis, prototyping, and personal tooling • Experience taking ideas to working prototypes with tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, or v0 • Ability to validate AI-generated output and judge when not to use AI tools • Comfort committing to and defending positions with incomplete information • Ability to work with limited guidance in a small, remote, self-managing team • Ability to write persuasively for expert public users and senior leadership • Experience building a measurement practice from scratch • Ability to query product data in SQL or equivalent, run experiments, and interpret results • Familiarity with subscription metrics including trial-to-paid conversion, retention, churn, and lifetime value • Technical fluency sufficient to understand system behavior, constraints, and edge cases • Willingness to travel up to 5%, domestically and internationally • Able to work virtually in any US time zone • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
