📋 Description

• Lead a specialized team of data professionals supporting improvements in business practices through data science • Manage the overall data scientist function, including modelers and/or data scientists • Oversee development of data models, data mining, and analytic solutions • Develop tools to improve risk detection and process efficiency across financial crime risk management • Leverage large language models and other latest tools for innovation initiatives and business-as-usual operations • Own interactions with key stakeholders and applicable model lifecycle activities • Hire talent, set goals, develop staff, manage performance and compensation decisions, and handle disciplinary actions • Provide strategic partnership, thought leadership, and recommendations to leadership and executive audiences • Set operational team direction and collaborate on common goals • Lead and oversee enterprise analytic solutions for customers • Work with business owners to identify opportunities and prioritize analysis • Manage team workload and assign data requests based on skills and development needs • Design tests and learning programs for various scenarios • Identify use cases, value drivers, risks, trends, operational efficiencies, and business growth opportunities • Translate complex data into clear recommendations • Ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks, methodologies, regulatory requirements, and business strategy • Identify, mitigate, report, and escalate risk and compliance issues • Lead remediation plans for performance, risk, and governance issues • Build and retain an engaged, diverse, and high-performing team • Foster colleague development, continuous learning, psychological safety, and innovation

🎯 Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred, such as mathematics, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science • Graduate degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required; candidates with 5 years of highly relevant experience may also be considered • Must be either a US Citizen or have US Resident Green Card authorization, without current or future need for TD sponsorship • Experience leading data science, analytics, or innovation initiatives for enterprise-scale solutions in production environments • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or equivalent programming languages • Experience in financial crimes, compliance risk analytics, model risk, or related risk management domains • Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs), machine learning, and quantitative risk analysis • Experience optimizing, testing, and tuning AML/CTF solutions • Experience developing dashboards, web applications, or other user-facing analytical tools • Proven experience managing teams and collaborating across cross-functional stakeholders • Ability to perform sedentary work, operate standard office equipment, perform multiple tasks, and concentrate for long periods • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and perform basic arithmetic
