• Set the vision and lead execution of strategies driving student, educator, and community impact in Texas • Understand and communicate evidence, case studies, student-outcome drivers, and advocacy and teacher-leadership patterns • Articulate gaps in student outcomes and set ambitious goals and strategies to address them • Develop theories of change and action with organizations and coalition members • Establish and evolve local teacher learning and leadership models • Use data, measurement, and evaluation structures to assess and improve teacher engagement models • Develop policy agendas, curricula, and learning experiences that prepare teachers to engage lawmakers and stakeholders • Lead and participate in local and state advocacy campaigns • Develop strategies to position teachers as trusted messengers and elevate teacher voice in media • Develop teacher leadership and cross-sector collaboration around education and community needs • Set and execute annual fundraising goals ranging from $350,000 to $2 million • Build coalitions, donor portfolios, champion networks, and cabinets of subject matter experts • Develop student- and teacher-centered stories and fundraising resources • Build, hire, retain, train, and right-size local staffing models • Manage staff through coaching, performance management, communication, and professional development • Manage annual regional expenses and partner with finance on budgets and compliance • Report to the Chief Regional Impact and Operations Officer • Travel regularly throughout Texas and occasionally nationally
• Reside in Texas • Willingness to travel to Austin during the legislative session and periodically to other parts of the state • Flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends • Ability to set and continuously evaluate strategies for local impact aligned to quantitative and qualitative goals • Ability to communicate Teach Plus's vision and strategy to internal and external partners • Ability to leverage and grow professional networks • Ability to build or leverage systems for operational excellence • Talent identification and development skills • Experience managing individuals toward measurable outcomes through performance management and coaching • Ability to leverage data sets and platforms such as Martus and Salesforce • Understanding and management of financial information, including Budget-to-Actuals and grant reports • Ability to track and analyze key policies and take aligned action with local partners and Fellows • Effective speaking and writing skills, including fundraising communication • Ability to inspire and motivate through storytelling and compelling narratives • People management, team leadership, and community building skills • Ability to communicate with radical candor and apply principles of nonviolent communication • Ability to embody systems leadership, focus on equitable student outcomes, develop teacher systems leadership, and maintain a solutions orientation
