📋 Description

• Work under the observation of a senior architectural professional and receive specific, detailed feedback • Develop construction drawings, primarily during the construction-documentation phase • Perform design and coordination assignments across all project phases, with increasing complexity and scope as mastery is demonstrated • Become NCARB registered and track performance in accordance with AXP requirements • Investigate and document project code requirements • Assist with elementary design schedules and schematics • Research, analyze, and prepare assigned sheets for construction drawing sets • Evaluate and document scope, quantity, and cost in comparison to material selections and prepare specifications • Participate in meetings with code officials and adjust designs for compliance • Assist and advise clients in obtaining required approvals and permits • Produce elevation drawings and material schedules • Ensure design, material, and detail changes made during the construction-documentation phase are reflected on all relevant drawings • Check work for completeness and accuracy before submitting it to the project team • Research and apply increasingly complex details, codes, and methods • Potentially assume full responsibility for all phases of a small, limited-complexity project

🎯 Requirements

• One to two years of experience in an architectural environment is preferred • Four-year Degree in Architecture, from an NAAB accredited degree program • Successful completion of Revit proficiency assessment • Academic portfolio • Some work experience in the building environment is also preferred • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered • Working knowledge of ICBO, International Building Code, and an awareness of federal, state, and local code • Knowledge of building materials and construction practices • Knowledge of planning and design process • Knowledge of engineering systems relevant to the built environment • Awareness and understanding of potential environmental hazards with regard to site • Proficiency with the version of Revit or AutoCAD currently in use • Knowledge of mathematical and engineering formulas used to determine space dimensions and prepare quantity calculations for selected materials • Architectural lettering by hand • Rough rendering and quick sketch by hand • Ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb steps or ladder, and tolerate airborne environmental nuisances associated with building construction sites • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing • Ability to visually survey, measure and assess project site, site elements, and project while under construction • An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace
