📋 Description

• Generate original ideas for characters, episodes, season arcs, and other content, and pitch them to Executive Producers and Creative Executives • Create casting sides and recording documents as needed • Workshop and brainstorm ideas, then develop and revise short premises for approval • Write and revise multi-page outlines based on creative and studio feedback • Write multiple script drafts and incorporate notes from production departments • Meet with Directors, Designers, and Board Artists to answer script questions and provide clarification • Address notes from multiple sources creatively and expediently within show guidelines • Address legal and Standards & Practices notes and concerns in collaboration with the Story Editor and show leadership • Collaborate with writers, Story Editor, Producers, Directors, and Board Artists on comedy and story punch-up throughout production • Work with Production Management to meet schedules and deadlines

🎯 Requirements

• Awareness of current media across television, film, and print for animation and live action • Well-versed in different kinds of storytelling and story tropes • Ability to communicate clearly in meetings and on the page • Sense of comedic timing, including visual gags, wordplay, and dialogue • Strong understanding of character and story structure, including plants and payoffs and three-act structure where applicable • Team player with an innate understanding of animation production as a collaborative art form • Minimum 2–3 years of writing experience and/or training on a similar show, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Commitment to telling high-quality stories enjoyable by the whole family • Strong understanding of Final Draft • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience • Love of the animation medium and instinct for animation’s visual strengths and devices • Animated television series experience is a plus
