📋 Description

• Own real-time social media execution across all channels, including content scheduling, publishing, and same-day judgment calls on prioritization • Track Chartbeat and platform analytics in real time throughout each shift, surfacing and acting on trending stories as they break • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating engagement campaigns and audience development initiatives • Support newsletters and community forums to encourage active participation and feedback • Prepare and deliver engagement metric reports on a set schedule, using data to inform and adjust strategy • Respond to audience inquiries and moderate discussions to maintain a positive and respectful environment • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activity, processes, and outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts or operations for a publication, brand, or organization with a substantial audience reach • Experience in audience engagement, community management, or digital tactics • Experience optimizing content for Apple News and other content distribution platforms • Proficiency with social media platforms and analytics tools • Proven ability to work independently and communicate proactively in a remote work environment • Creative thinker with a passion for media and community building • Experience with social media advertising and campaign management • Graphic design, video editing, or multimedia content creation skills • Familiarity with The New Republic’s mission and audience • Interest in expanding into newsletters, podcasts, video, and push notifications as part of a broader engagement strategy • Eagerness to help TNR grow through innovative tactics and strategic experimentation • Résumé and cover letter required
