• Research, collect, and analyze information supporting organizational objectives • Identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead issues through resolution • Collaborate on performance improvement activities based on program efficiency and patient experience outcomes • Distribute analytical reports • Use multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials • Research and compile information for ad-hoc operational projects and initiatives • Synthesize and analyze data, provide detailed summaries and graphical trend presentations, and recommend practical solutions • Leverage program and operational data to define and demonstrate progress, ROI, and impacts • Obtain appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction with providers and coding staff • Validate assignment of working HCC diagnoses affecting RAF scores in the ambulatory patient population • Conduct prospective and retrospective quality reviews of ambulatory patient records • Identify documentation clarification needs and resolve discrepancies with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals • Ensure medical record documentation is accurate, complete, compliant, and supports medical necessity • Apply knowledge of outpatient reimbursement models, payment structures, documentation, and HCC risk adjustment to support compliant claims submission • Identify documentation and coding patterns and trends • Act as a technical resource for documentation, coding, and billing regulations
• Associate’s degree in Business, healthcare, Nursing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience with compliant healthcare documentation • Experience with HCC coding requirements • Experience with alternate payment models in a multi-facility, integrated healthcare delivery system, revenue cycle, or consulting experience • One of the following credentials: Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Certified Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist – Outpatient (CCDS-O), Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO), or Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP), with coding or clinical documentation integrity experience • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations • Knowledge of healthcare documentation, coding, billing regulations, outpatient reimbursement models, and HCC risk adjustment • Ability to analyze data, create reports, and develop educational materials • Ability to follow complex tasks through to completion and work on concurrent tasks/projects • Ability to use computers and other technology • Ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds unassisted • Ability to maintain a safe working environment and use available PPE • Ability to comply with applicable Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, and guidelines • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, HIM, or related healthcare field (nice to have)
