📋 Description

• Register patients by verifying identification, demographic information, and insurance coverage • Schedule appointments and surgeries • Verify clinical, financial, and insurance information during the pre-registration process • Accept point-of-service payments and provide guidance on payment options • Enter patient information accurately into hospital information systems • Refer patients with financial-liability questions to appropriate resources • Accept medical authorization or referral forms when appropriate • Process key documents to obtain insurance information • Provide payment estimates for out-of-pocket costs • Educate patients and families on registration kiosks or online systems • Identify routine issues and escalate them to the Lead Patient Access Concierge • Clear patients for service delivery

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma • 1-3 years experience within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other health care financial service setting, performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities • Commensurate customer service experience in another industry may be considered • Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations and billing processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Champus, and Supplemental Security Income Disability), managed care contracts and coordination of benefits is preferred • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical record coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is preferred • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Data entry skills and organizational abilities • Superior interpersonal skills • Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and good time management skills • Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative, people-centered environment
