⢠Own and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures under ASC 606 across licensed software, SaaS, website-based products, implementation, and support services ⢠Prepare and review monthly revenue journal entries, deferred revenue roll-forwards, and account reconciliations ⢠Record variable consideration, contract modifications, and multi-element arrangements ⢠Manage revenue-related contract costs, software publisher/royalty costs, capitalization, and amortization schedules ⢠Monitor and reconcile deferred commission and contract cost balances and assess impairment ⢠Contribute to monthly and quarterly close, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance explanations ⢠Prepare bad debt reserve calculations and analyze aged accounts receivable ⢠Reconcile intercompany accounts, including transfer pricing, and resolve variances ⢠Support general ledger responsibilities and ad hoc accounting projects ⢠Support sales and use tax research, nexus analysis, and accounting entries with Tax and outside advisors ⢠Partner with external auditors, prepare PBC schedules, and respond to audit requests ⢠Collaborate with billing, collections, sales operations, and customer success teams on accounting questions and billing disputes ⢠Provide revenue and gross margin reporting and analysis with FP&A and business leaders ⢠Identify and implement process improvements improving accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls
⢠Bachelor's degree in Accounting ⢠5+ years of progressive accounting experience ⢠Meaningful exposure to revenue recognition in a technology or software company ⢠Deep working knowledge of ASC 606, including multi-element arrangements, contract modifications, and principal vs. agent considerations ⢠Hands-on revenue accounting experience across SaaS, subscription and perpetual licensing, professional services, and web-based products ⢠Solid understanding of ASC 340-40 contract cost accounting ⢠Experience with bad debt reserve methodologies, including aging analysis, historical loss rates, and specific identification ⢠Ability to prepare and review PBC schedules and support external audit processes ⢠Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas ⢠Proficiency in a major ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar ⢠Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills ⢠Ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders ⢠CPA preferred
