📋 Description

• Act as the key day-to-day client interface for cost management services • Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle • Produce and present final cost plans • Review and develop cost estimates with design services teams and general contractors • Reconcile changes and verify contractor data • Gather project status information and prepare cost estimate updates • Prepare written comments and executive summaries on contractor submissions • Coordinate cost information from clients, subcontractors, suppliers and architects/engineers • Drive engineering priorities based on cost impact • Resolve scheduling issues proactively • Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects • Manage post-contract cost variances and change control processes • Track cost impacts, contingencies and commitments • Prepare funding presentations and coordinate value-engineering sessions • Develop cost plans and estimates through design milestones • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client-side negotiations • Perform quantity surveying, cost controls and change management • Establish robust cost auditing, valuation and cost validation processes • Produce monthly cost reports for clients • Negotiate and agree final accounts • Compile built-cost estimate records for benchmarking • Coach and mentor team members • Manage commission margins, fee/resource forecasts and financial reports using internal software • Maintain business management systems, delivery methodologies and tools • Develop cost models for rapid estimating, benchmarking and scenario analysis • Prepare cost estimates and budgets for workplace construction projects, including new builds, remodels and tenant improvements • Monitor costs, financial risks and budget adherence • Align cost plans with schedules for cash flow, accruals and forecasting • Support AI-enabled cost modeling and scalable cost intelligence platforms • Implement process improvements and collaborate on digital solutions • Partner with clients and project teams on scope, cost and delivery strategy • Provide data-driven recommendations and value engineering • Contribute to enterprise cost strategies, capital planning and long-range forecasting • Drive continuous improvement and uphold applicable SOX controls

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or a construction-related field • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in a construction-industry cost management role • RICS accredited or working towards it preferred • Experience leading cost management on medium or large, medium- to high-complexity construction projects • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred • Knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management and value engineering • Excellent communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Client-facing experience • Experience developing parametric and hybrid cost models • Experience preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for workplace construction projects • Knowledge of cost planning, bid review, procurement strategy and cost analysis reporting • Experience monitoring project costs, financial risks and budgets • Ability to use historical data, market intelligence and industry trends for cost outputs • Knowledge of cash flow, accruals and forecasting • Knowledge of client financial policies, contract requirements and SOX controls • Experience with change orders, financial documentation and cost reporting • Interest or experience supporting AI-enabled cost modeling tools and digital cost intelligence platforms • Ability to translate cost management workflows into digital solutions • Ability to communicate complex cost and risk insights to senior stakeholders
