📋 Description

• Act as the key day-to-day client interface for cost management services • Support large-scale mission-critical, industrial, and campus-style construction programs • Estimate and negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle • Produce and present final cost plans and updated cost plans at design milestones • Review design and contractor cost estimates and reconcile changes • Gather project status information and prepare cost estimate updates • Prepare written comments on general contractor submissions, including executive summaries • Coordinate cost information from owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams • Inform engineering priorities based on cost impact • Resolve scheduling issues proactively with minimal supervision • Manage cost checks, valuations, cost auditing, and cost validation processes • Manage cost impacts, contingency, commitment tracking, variances, and change control • Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate value engineering sessions • Provide commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and lead client-side negotiations • Perform quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management throughout the project lifecycle • Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation • Negotiate and agree final accounts • Compile built-cost estimate records for benchmarking • Identify, coach, and mentor talent • Manage commission margin levels, fee/resource forecasts, and financial reports using internal software • Implement internal business management systems, delivery methodologies, and tools • Adhere to applicable SOX control responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related construction field • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a construction-industry cost management role • RICS accredited or working towards accreditation preferred • Experience leading cost management on medium to large-scale, medium- to high-complexity construction projects • Experience supporting mission-critical, advanced technology, data center, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, or large campus-style developments preferred • Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred • Good knowledge of construction-industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Comfortable operating in a client-facing role • Able to work independently and as part of a team • Willingness and ability to travel to the Columbus-area project site approximately once per month • Ability to work remotely from Ohio or surrounding states • Ability to use internal software and business management systems • Must adhere to applicable SOX controls
