📋 Description

• Support hyperscale data center construction programs as a mechanical engineer • Review and assist technical development of airside and waterside mechanical systems • Evaluate campus planning, layouts, CFD and noise modeling, climate data, hydraulic analyses, pipe sizing, and bin hour analyses • Oversee A/E design consultants and provide engineering direction • Peer review drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, calculations, models, and other deliverables • Recommend potential value engineering opportunities • Analyze redundancies, failure modes, and Single Points Of Failure while working with RAM modelers • Create conceptual CAD or BIM sketches for visualization and spatial/dimensional validation • Assist or occasionally lead solutions for mechanical issues, outages, fleet-wide improvements, and operational campus needs • Evaluate post-mortem reports and root cause analyses • Generate solution, upgrade, and improvement options with fleet-wide impact • Analyze operational trend data to assess equipment health, remaining useful life, and predictive failure models • Process construction-originated engineering issues with construction, design, and change management partners • Develop engineering bulletins and support standard design improvement processes • Visit construction or operational sites when needed • Use the client's Buganizer platform to file bugs, work orders, and closeouts • Build presentations using Google Slides to communicate findings, evaluations, and options

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience • At least 2 years of experience in data center construction • Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Sheets, Docs, and Slides • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams • Solid understanding of large-scale data center mechanical infrastructure, including cooling and fire protection • Familiarity with mission critical infrastructure • Experience coordinating scope with multiple trades • Ability to work independently remotely • Willingness to travel to construction sites with little or no supervision • Experience with data center projects inside and outside of the US strongly preferred • Experience with waterless cooling solutions preferred • Experience with EPA regulations and emissions after-treatment solutions for diesel generators preferred • Experience in hydroponics systems, water quality management, and corrosion/fouling prevention helpful • Proficiency in fuel oil quality standards helpful
