• Support hyperscale data center construction programs as a mechanical engineer • Focus on design of new hyperscale data center buildings • Support operations staff with engineering solutions • Streamline construction issue resolutions • Review and assist technical development of airside and waterside mechanical systems • Oversee A/E design consultants and provide engineering direction • Peer review drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, calculations, models, and other deliverables • Review and recommend value engineering opportunities • Analyze redundancies, failure modes, and Single Points Of Failure while working with RAM modelers • Create rapid conceptual CAD or BIM sketches for internal visualization and validation • Assist and occasionally lead projects addressing mechanical issues, outages, fleet-wide improvements, and operational campus needs • Evaluate post-mortem reports, 8D/root cause analyses, and presentations • Generate solution, upgrade, and improvement options with fleet-wide impact • Analyze operational trends to evaluate equipment health, remaining useful life, and predictive failure models • Process construction-originated engineering issues with construction, design, and change management partners • Develop engineering bulletins and route design changes through established procedures • Support standard design improvement processes across products, design, construction, and operations • Visit construction or operational sites only if needed • Operate the client's Buganizer platform to file bugs, work orders, and closeouts • Build presentations using Google Slides to communicate findings, evaluations, and options
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience • At least 2 years of experience in data center construction • Familiarity with Google Workspace and related products (Sheets, Docs, Slides) • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams • Solid understanding of large-scale data center mechanical infrastructure, including cooling and fire protection • Familiarity with mission critical infrastructure • Experience coordinating scope with multiple trades • Ability to work independently remotely • Willingness to travel to construction sites with little or no supervision • Experience with data center projects inside and outside of the US is strongly preferred
