📋 Description

• Support hyperscale data center construction programs as a mechanical engineer • Focus on designing new hyperscale data center buildings • Support operations staff with engineering solutions • Streamline construction issue resolutions • Manage multiple real estate projects from initiation through completion, including planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout • Work directly with clients to prepare scope of work, resource requirements, cost estimates and budgets, schedules and milestones, quality control, and risk identification • Review and assist technical development of airside and waterside mechanical systems • Perform campus planning, general layouts, CFD and noise modeling, climate data evaluations, hydraulic analyses, pipe sizing, and bin hour analyses • Oversee A/E design consultants and provide direction or escalation according to engineering standards • Peer review design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, sequences of operations, calculations, and models • Review and advise on value engineering opportunities • Analyze redundancies, failure modes, and single points of failure with RAM modelers • Conduct rapid conceptual sketches using CAD or BIM • Work with construction, design, and change management partners to process construction-originated engineering issues • Develop engineering bulletins and route design changes through established procedures when necessary • Support standard design improvement processes across products, design, construction, and operations • Visit construction or operational sites only if needed • Produce presentations communicating findings, evaluations, and options to internal stakeholders • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and operational plans • Communicate complex ideas and influence stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered • Minimum 2 years of experience in data center construction required • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, including structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, electrical, and architectural teams • Innovative mentality to develop methods beyond existing solutions • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions with broad business impact • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Solid understanding of large-scale data center mechanical infrastructure, including cooling and fire protection • Ability to work independently remotely • Willingness to travel to construction sites with little or no supervision • Experience with data center projects inside and outside the US strongly preferred • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset • Experience with waterless cooling solutions preferred but not required
