📋 Description

• Conduct internal monitoring and auditing functions on policies and procedures • Review medical records and billing system programs to determine procedure code and billing accuracy • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and UAMS coding and billing guidelines • Provide education and training to UAMS billing providers and staff based on audit results • Manage compliance issues for assigned departments • Conduct professional coding and billing audits according to the audit plan schedule • Review medical record documentation and billing system processes to determine revenue-cycle accuracy • Serve as a resource and contact for coding, billing, reporting, regulatory, and documentation issues • Meet with billing providers to discuss documentation improvements for appropriate reimbursement • Develop and present educational in-service programs • Maintain attendance tracking for mandatory sessions • Research issues and provide professional coding guidance • Perform ad hoc audits and follow-up functions, including matters involving external audits • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in professional coding/auditing functions, or High School diploma/GED plus seven (7) years of experience in professional coding/auditing functions required • Must have one current coding certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) • Demonstrated ability to present information verbally • Strong written communication skills with attention to detail • Persons must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
