UFW Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advocates for and provides services to farm workers, immigrants, and Latino communities across the United States. The foundation delivers immigration legal services, workers' rights advocacy, educational outreach, rapid response networks, emergency relief (including COVID-19 relief payments), and conducts research and public policy work documenting farm worker experiences with immigration enforcement. 📋 Description

• Support finance activities for several programs and contracts • Provide internal clients with data-driven management support and financial analysis • Review grants and contracts to understand budgetary restrictions • Monitor, prepare, review, and manage grant and contract invoicing and advances • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual expense reports for grants and contracts • Prepare and process journal entries for grant and contract expenditures • Monitor subrecipient fiscal compliance and stewardship of awarded funds • Coordinate collection, preparation, and delivery of subrecipient financial documents to funders • Close out grants and contracts after project completion and fulfillment of funder requirements • Complete ad hoc projects as assigned by finance and executive leadership • Review monthly grant spend-down of available funds • Assist with annual and midyear budget creation, including developing tools and collecting data from programs • Check in with program directors to anticipate significant budget variances • Identify necessary budget modifications and support the budget modification process • Prepare financial pro formas and budgets for funding and grant applications • Recommend and implement improvements to finance processes and procedures • Assist with the annual audit • Create and maintain documentation of relevant processes and procedures • Participate in reflective supervision • Coordinate and supervise volunteers or interns as needed • Collaborate with the Finance team, organizational directors, external partners, and funders • Report to the Budget and Grants Director

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS degree in accounting, finance, a related field, or equivalent experience • Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis, subrecipient monitoring, and budgeting experience • Experience ideally in the nonprofit sector with reporting compliance for local, state, and federal requirements • Prior experience in nonprofit organization management, contract administration, budgeting, and fundraising • Experience creating complex financial models, forecasts, and reports • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for state and federal funding streams preferred • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Experience with database applications • Understanding of nonprofit accounting • Comprehensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, and techniques • Excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills • Ability to plan and achieve annual goals and objectives • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public • Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team while managing multiple projects and priorities • Genuine interest in immigrant and farm worker rights • COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended; it may become required if a future pandemic situation necessitates it • No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
