📋 Description

• Act as a discipline engineer or overall project engineer • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for foundation and structural steel design • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports • Practice efficiency engineering in design selection • Recommend design alterations to improve quality • Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced engineers • Work in the office or in the field as needed • Resolve design problems, including field investigations or observations • Check design computations completed by others • Coordinate specific design aspects of projects • Perform detailed engineering design and evaluations within the specialty • Devise new approaches and solutions to problems • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning assigned projects • Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities within the assigned market • Communicate and interact with clients • Collaborate with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required • Professional Structural Engineer (SE) registration required • Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience is preferred • Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred • Understanding of structural steel, drilled pier & spread footing design and detailing required • Experience using MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred • Knowledge of AISC and ACI required; ASCE and NESC preferred • Basic understanding of AutoCADD and/or MicroStation preferred • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) • Openness to innovation and ability to apply evolving technology and AI tools • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
