📋 Description

• Support Renewables, Utility, and Power projects in the Substation department • Act as a discipline engineer or overall project engineer • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for foundation design, structural steel design, and grading plans • Perform engineering calculations using formulas and complete computer-aided and/or manual design work • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports • Practice efficiency engineering in design selection • Recommend design alterations to improve quality • Work with engineering technicians and experienced engineers • Work in the office or field as needed • Resolve design problems through field investigations or observations • Check design computations completed by others • Coordinate specific project design aspects • Perform detailed engineering design and evaluations within the specialty • Devise new approaches and solutions to problems • Prepare project direction reports and correspondence • Participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities • Communicate with clients to ensure their needs are met • Collaborate with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required • Civil/structural Professional Engineer (PE) registration, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, required • Structural Engineer registration desired • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience is preferred • Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred • Understanding of structural steel, drilled pier & spread footing design and detailing required • Grading design preferred • Experience using MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred • Knowledge of AISC and ACI required • Knowledge of ASCE and NESC preferred • Basic understanding of AutoCADD and/or MicroStation preferred • Proven experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Openness to innovation and ability to apply evolving technology and AI tools • Up to 15% travel required • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US
