📋 Description

• Support Renewables/Utility/Power projects in the Substation department • Act as a discipline engineer or overall project engineer • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for foundation design, structural steel design, and grading plans • Perform engineering calculations using formulas and technical skills • Complete computer-aided and/or manual design calculations • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports • Practice efficiency engineering in design selection • Recommend design alterations to improve quality • Work with engineering technicians and experienced engineers • Resolve design problems, including field investigations or observations • Check design computations completed by others • Coordinate project design aspects • Perform detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialty • Devise new approaches and solutions to project problems • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning assigned projects • Potentially participate in marketing, sales, and business development activities • Communicate and interact with clients to meet their needs • Collaborate with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects • May work in the office or in the field

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience • Engineering in Training (EIT) registration or obtain within 6 months required • Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred • Understanding of structural steel, drilled pier & spread footing design and detailing required • Grading design preferred • Experience using MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred • Knowledge of AISC and ACI required • ASCE & NESC preferred • Basic understanding of AutoCADD and/or MicroStation preferred • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) • Up to 15% travel required • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US • Relevant military experience considered for transitioning service members
