📋 Description

• Advise undergraduate and graduate students regarding program and course requirements • Develop individual learning outcomes based on students’ skills, goals, responsibilities, and experiences • Encourage and direct students in using web-based resources • Maintain and review student records and update student database information • Conduct data analysis and respond to information requests • Analyze and resolve student issues involving program requirements and course scheduling • Apply academic policies • Acquire and demonstrate content knowledge regarding degree, credential, and certificate programs • Support student enrollment efforts through collaboration with university partner offices • Monitor individual student progress • Conduct proactive advising outreach regarding academic issues, program completion, and career goals • Collaborate with the university community, including campus meetings and departmental committees • Prepare program summary analyses, evaluative reports, and recommendations supporting retention initiatives • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree • 1-3 years’ experience with student advising or related experience in an educational setting • Experience in interpreting and applying academic policies for student degree requirements and academic progress • Experience in resolving academic issues that also involve the career and life goals of the student • Knowledge of learning needs of individual students based on their skills, abilities, and goals • Excellent oral communication and writing skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong organizational and analytical skills • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality of student records • Ability to abide by ethical standards and guidelines for academic advising • Ability to work independently and as a team member • Ability to handle high volume in a dynamic and fast-paced environment • Computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database, electronic mail, and internet applications • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Intermediate Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook experience • Ability to use scanning and video conferencing technology effectively • Familiarity with standard office equipment • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and/or evenings • Subject to a background check • Must reside in one of the approved states: Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Wisconsin
