📋 Description

• Lead a team of analysts and data scientists embedded with each marketing channel • Center experimentation in the team's work and decide which cross-channel tests are worth running • Ensure test results influence future marketing decisions • Guide analysis explaining channel performance changes and recommended marketing actions • Encourage proactive analysis identifying problems and opportunities • Maintain high standards for incrementality testing, attribution, and measurement quality • Set the team's roadmap with marketing, finance, and product leaders • Bring business context into the team's priorities • Hire and develop a team that marketing leaders treat as a partner • Partner with Upstart marketing leaders to optimize company growth • Work on marketing analytics across direct mail, paid search and social, video, mobile, email, brand campaigns, and lending partnerships

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in data science and analytics, including 5+ years managing teams of analysts and data scientists • Technical depth in reporting, experiments, causal inference, and attribution • Enough SQL and Python to check the team's work • Record of hiring well and developing people into more senior roles • Good judgment in ambiguous, greenfield areas • Clear written and verbal communication with marketing, finance, product, and technical audiences • Willingness to challenge senior leaders when evidence does not support their plan • A PhD or master's degree in statistics, economics, computer science, or another quantitative field (preferred) • Experience bringing AI tools into analysis and reporting work (preferred) • Must be able to work in US East/West Coast time zones • For Canada-based roles, Quebec is excluded
