📋 Description

• Investigate assigned property damage and bodily injury claims reported under affiliated companies' insurance contracts • Identify information and documents needed to evaluate claims • Assign and direct independent adjusters and review public and other records and documents • Contact insureds, claimants, and others by telephone and correspondence regarding claim information, processes, resolution alternatives, and related matters • Comply with claims handling laws and regulations • Engage defense counsel when appropriate and monitor defense of insureds at higher levels • Analyze and determine the rights and obligations of the Company, insureds, claimants, and others under applicable insurance contracts • Coordinate with the Legal Department on coverage, claims handling compliance, and other legal issues • Analyze, evaluate, and estimate insured liability and claimant/insured losses • Identify and report potential fraud to the Special Investigation Unit • Use decision theory principles to evaluate claim settlement scenarios • Establish and modify appropriate case reserves • Review and approve or disapprove invoices for allocated loss adjustment expenses • Maintain and review claim diaries and claim files • Negotiate and resolve assigned claims within established authority or submit authority requests and recommendations to management • Prepare and maintain accurate records of communications and required electronic and other records • Report potential loss exposures and assigned claim information to managers and others as required • Maintain current knowledge of insurance and claim management principles through professional literature, published opinions, trade periodicals, and conferences

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required • Three or more years related work experience • Knowledge of interpretation and application of insurance contracts • Knowledge of insurance claim procedures, loss evaluation methods and claim resolution alternatives • Insurance-related courses such as AIC or CPCU • Investigation • Evaluation and analysis • Negotiation • Case management • Time management and prioritization • Excellent oral and written communication, especially with individuals outside the Company • Ability to organize time and resources and handle multiple high priorities • Ability to research and evaluate alternatives, reach decisions, and make recommendations • Maintain strict confidentiality • Meet deadlines • Work with detail and accuracy • Work well with others • Obtain and maintain all required licenses and certifications • This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship
