📋 Description

• Execute statistical and mathematical analyses to support business decision-making • Support AI/ML in a deployed production environment • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business and domain context for ML opportunities • Present data science solutions to stakeholders iteratively • Help convert business problems into ML problems • Research data sources, cleanse data, perform feature engineering, and create baseline models • Independently manage multiple data science model development projects • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product management • Own model development from inception through implementation, including ML pipelines, documentation, model drift, and remodeling strategy • Mentor Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists • Coordinate with the ML team on deployment issues, resource requirements, deployment, and retraining • Own or delegate critical stakeholder tickets and issues • Navigate extensive codebases for troubleshooting, debugging, and improvement • Contribute to and enforce coding standards and conventions • Create and maintain documentation for ML models, data sources, and methodologies • Assist in creating feasibility documents • Participate in R&D and implement process improvements or new methodologies • Share knowledge through internal presentations and workshops • Guide Scrum, Kanban, and other development methodology implementation, including features, tasks, effort estimates, and timing

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, or similar field and 3+ years of experience, OR Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in data science • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Expert-level understanding of classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, association rule learning, bagging, boosting, neural networks, deep learning, model evaluation and metrics, cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, optimization algorithms, NLP, and more • Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies with 1–2 years of experience • Intellectual curiosity regarding latest developments such as LLM/Generative AI models • Ability to anticipate deployment limitations, data latency, algorithm appropriateness, and mathematical assumptions • At least 1+ year working with a major cloud platform and creating ML models from data exploration through deployment • Working knowledge of handling large datasets in a cloud environment • Working knowledge of APIs and CI/CD • Understanding of DevOps and MLOps principles • 1+ year writing production-grade code in Bash, Python, and SQL • Ability to identify code improvements, select optimal data structures, optimize code, and create custom code • Proven independent ability to navigate a data lake environment while creating training datasets or feature stores • Skills creating, deploying, and troubleshooting containers for ML modeling • 1+ year of experience with version control systems/concepts such as Git • Ability to investigate/research ML frameworks, algorithms, datasets, and feature stores • Capability to provide macro-level thought leadership to junior Data Scientists • Must be able to work remotely anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories
