📋 Description

• Coordinate contract negotiations with critical commodity suppliers • Organize and conduct regional spot and block buys • Coordinate forward pricing to protect long-term customer contracts • Communicate volatile commodity market status to crucial stakeholders • Monitor commodity-related working capital performance/DSI against targets for assigned areas • Participate in annual commodity contract negotiations and monitor and execute supplier agreements • Procure commodity products for assigned areas • Build and maintain relationships with strategic commodity partners • Transact business with strategic commodity suppliers as assigned • Participate in joint supplier/division business plan meetings • Provide operational leadership with guidance on commodity market direction • Communicate new product opportunities to divisions • Participate in negotiations for new terms, rebates, and Vendor Managed Inventory programs • Help resolve supplier and operations challenges involving costs, quantities, AP variances, and late shipments • Visit regional divisions quarterly to discuss pricing, strategy, and updates • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred • Concentration in Supply Chain studies preferred • 5 years of purchasing, inventory control/management, materials input, or warehousing experience required • Strong knowledge of the building material industry to support Supply Chain objectives • A high degree of interpersonal communication for negotiation • Mastery of tools needed to extract data, conduct RFPs, manage and replenish inventory • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software systems • Knowledge and skill to organize, plan, manage, execute, and evaluate projects • 10–20% travel • Compliance with company safety, attendance, ethics, policies, standards, and workplace safety requirements
