📋 Description

• Provide individual and group interventions for patients coping with health psychology presentations related to mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief, phase-of-life difficulties, and mild-to-moderate/severe mental health presentations • Provide cognitive screenings addressing functional and cognitive ability questions • Provide immediate clinical assessment and collaborative care and treatment for patients experiencing mental or behavioral health symptoms • Complete thorough psychosocial assessments to determine patient and family psychosocial functioning and needs • Apply medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, treatment procedures, medications, side effects, and medical terminology in clinical practice • Follow suicide prevention guidelines, risk-assessment documentation, and training requirements • Complete documentation and determine appropriate diagnoses and treatment-related conclusions using DSM diagnosis • Provide emergency and crisis interventions, rapid assessments, and crisis-management plans • Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy when clinically indicated and therapeutically beneficial • Maintain knowledge of Veterans' benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes • Provide case management services to patients and families throughout the continuum of care • Adhere to client regulations regarding documentation and encounter completion

🎯 Requirements

• Must be licensed to practice independently in any state as a Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) • Psychologists must have PsyPact in addition to a state license • Depending on license type, must have either a master's degree in social work, counseling or a related field from an accredited program, or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program • Minimum of 2 years' experience practicing therapy independently • Preferred: experience providing therapy with veterans and military members • Experience consulting on mental health diagnoses and treatment plans for multidisciplinary professionals, particularly for psychiatrically and medically complex patients • Familiarity with the full range of DSM-5 clinical presentations and brief, evidence-based psychological interventions for mild, moderate, and severe presentations • General knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment • Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness (SMI) • Experience treating patients in a Veterans' Hospital PTSD and MHC setting with mental and behavioral health concerns and comorbidities • Assessment and intervention skills, including specialized experience with Evidence-Based Treatment • Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams • Knowledge of risk assessment and mental health crisis procedures, including skill in leading interdisciplinary treatment teams during patient mental health crises • Experience with one or more Electronic Health Records • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams) • Must be a US citizen and reside in the United States • Preferred modalities for depression: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Interpersonal Therapy, Problem-Solving Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), and Short-term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy • Preferred modalities for trauma: Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and suicide-risk-management training such as CBT for Suicide Prevention
