📋 Description

• Support the design and evaluation of teacher-centered adaptive goal-setting tools for educational technology • Conduct UX research activities including co-design sessions, teacher interviews, and prototype evaluation • Create research protocols, consent forms, interview guides, and other project deliverables • Design preliminary design probes, low-fidelity prototypes, and clickable prototypes for adaptive goal policies, teacher workflows, student-facing progress visualizations, and reward mechanisms • Support IRB documentation and study-material preparation • Contribute to data analysis from teacher interviews and co-design sessions • Develop design recommendations and implementation roadmaps • Support dissemination of research findings • Organize and manage IRB documentation, including protocol drafts and consent-form templates • Support research implementation and on-site data collection at partner schools and related organizations • Collaborate with the Vanderbilt LAPS Lab research team and external partners • Report administratively and functionally to Professor Conrad Borchers • Work without supervisory responsibility

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Experience in UX design, UX research, or HCI • Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (preferred) • Experience with educational technology (preferred) • Experience with co-design methods (preferred) • Experience with prototype development using tools such as Figma (preferred) • Ability to complete pre-employment background checks • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10% over the temporary assignment
