📋 Description

• Instruct small groups of students in English core skills for long-term understanding and high ACT/SAT scores • Track student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum • Engage students in individualized growth and improvement opportunities • Maintain and update student lesson schedules • Hold students accountable for assignments • Model professionalism and strong organizational skills through timely student communication • Develop and creatively execute evolving lesson plans and curriculum • Mentor middle and high school students through the college application process

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a humanities field from US Schools (English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Publishing, etc.) • Teaching experience in English and/or experience working in a college-level Writing Center (1+ years) • Demonstrated academic excellence (e.g., 3.5+ GPA) • Strong verbal skills and mastery of the English language • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites • Reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction • Commitment to work during the stated hours of operations • Experience teaching at the college or community college level preferred • Robust understanding of classroom pedagogy • Ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans using practical, real-world examples • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
