📋 Description

• Develop and scale Vay’s accounting function during a transformational period of growth • Own month-end close functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, consolidations, intercompany, and foreign currency accounting across multiple entities and countries • Develop new processes and reconciliations and strengthen existing processes, internal controls, finance systems, audit readiness, and management reporting • Research and conclude on accounting treatment for new or complex transactions • Create and maintain documentation of processes, controls, and accounting positions • Identify and help implement AI and automation to reduce manual month-end work • Maintain and reconcile accruals and review monthly budget versus actuals with FP&A and the business • Prepare audit deliverables and state and regulatory tax filings • Guide junior team members on close tasks and complex transactions

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or high-growth tech preferred), with strong month-end close and audit preparation experience • Comfortable making sound accounting calls and building processes where no standard procedure exists • Proven ability to design, implement, and optimize close processes and internal controls for efficiency and risk management • Experience with IFRS reporting preferred; strong US GAAP background welcome • Hands-on experience using AI or automation to streamline accounting work, with good judgment on when to review outputs • Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP • Strong Excel skills • Big 4 experience / Active CPA • Experience with multi-entity accounting and consolidations across countries • Experience with inventory management • Experience with VAT and German GAAP (HGB) • Detail-oriented, proactive collaborator who can influence stakeholders and navigate ambiguity
