📋 Description

• Lead Veeam’s Americas Commercial Legal team supporting the sales organization • Lead a team of four to five lawyers while remaining a key individual contributor • Partner with the EMEA counterpart on contracting positions, templates, playbooks, and processes • Negotiate and close complex, high-value software, SaaS, BaaS, professional services, and channel transactions • Advise on legal, regulatory, privacy, and commercial considerations • Coach and develop the Americas Commercial Legal team • Partner with Sales and sales leadership on pipeline, business priorities, and transaction resources • Develop and deliver contracting-process training and practical guidance • Serve as escalation point for complex, high-risk, or novel commercial matters • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across the global Commercial Legal team

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state • 12+ years of post-qualification experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house • Significant in-house experience within a software or technology company • Proven people leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing lawyers • Extensive hands-on experience negotiating and closing complex software and SaaS agreements in a fast-paced sales environment • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills • Experience partnering with Sales and other business stakeholders in the technology sector • Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters in commercial technology transactions • Strong commercial judgment and pragmatic, risk-based decision-making • Excellent communication and influencing skills • Ability to simplify complex legal issues and provide clear, practical guidance
