âą Must be available for at least one (1) ~60 day rotation OCONUS annually, plus additional training/screening events âą Practice acute care surgery in austere and limited resource environments âą Work with other members of a small team, perform examinations, make diagnoses and treat or prescribe a course of treatment and surgery, including damage control surgery for patients with injuries or disorders with surgical conditions âą Provide consultation and advice to patients and customers as the surgical subject matter expert âą Perform required surgery âą Conduct and supervise direct patient care, including surgical critical care and damage control surgical interventions âą Supervise other nursing and support personnel during resuscitation, perioperative and post-operative phases of care âą Document care provided and complete medical records in accordance with VIGILINT policy âą Plan and may conduct Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) missions for ICU level patients âą Based on qualifications and experience, may function in a leadership position âą Perform special staff functions as required âą Perform medical training and instruction as requested
âą Active SECRET or higher security clearance âą Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or U.S. Territory âą Current Board Certification through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery âą Current/active civilian practice to maintain clinical currency during non-deployed periods âą Minimum five (5) years' experience as staff or attending Surgeon in a high volume/high acuity or critical access environment âą Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy âą Minimum eight (8) years' experience as a Surgeon âą Minimum of five (5) years U.S. Military or Government Sponsored experience âą U.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment within the last 3 years in an austere environment and combat-like conditions âą Successful candidates may be invited for an in-person assessment process âą Experience shall include deployment in austere and combat-like conditions in Role 1, 2, or 3 facilities âą United States citizen âą Current ACLS, PALS, & BLS training through American Heart Association or Red Cross âą Current and unrestricted DEA license âą Current United States Passport that will not expire within 1-year of employment âą Ability to lift 150 pounds with assistance; carry 80 pounds a distance of 30 feet and push/pull over 200 pounds, must meet the anthropometric standards of assigned platform
