📋 Description

• Educate and inform patients about insurance benefits and financial responsibilities • Evaluate, educate, and enroll patients in medication/administration assistance programs and financial programs • Manage a caseload of patients in an assigned territory • Build relationships with patients, answer questions, and advocate for patient insurance and financial-management needs • Identify the best available financial resources for patients while considering company revenue • Document conversations with patients and insurance carriers in the EMR • Convey written and verbal information to patients, families, supervisors, insurance contacts, and Clinical Operations staff • Interface with the ROPs department regarding insurance eligibility and benefits • Communicate with ROPs and management regarding patient accounts, COB issues, EOBs, APPs, authorizations/referrals, and patient responsibility • Address patient concerns with ROPs and COPs, provide solutions, and follow up on additional assistance from leadership • Investigate insurance coverage-loss issues and determine actions such as appeals or contacting the Department of Labor or Department of Insurance • Review EOBs and account notes to assess and advise on patient responsibility • Recommend insurance options including COBRA, EGHP, Medicare, and other insurance plans • Assist patients with balances and resolve financial concerns before escalation to collections • Report to the Patient Resource Manager

🎯 Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required • Minimum 2 years working with insurance and benefits in a similar role • 2 years of related prior work experience required, preferably in an infusion company • Experience with medical health insurance, medical billing, HIPAA, Medicare, medical abbreviations, and terminology • 1 year of experience working in a customer service position required, preferably directly with patients • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills • Professional and effective communication with staff members, patients, vendors, and physicians • Fluent in written and spoken English • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook • Must reside in one of the listed states at the time of employment • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Excellent visual and manual dexterity
