• Own the Core Market post-sale capability strategy covering enrollment, group onboarding and installation, eligibility and member maintenance, renewals, and service workflows • Lead a multi-release enrollment modernization program replacing manual, document-driven enrollment with a digital, validated, self-service experience • Enable market expansion by making post-sale capabilities configurable for new states, market segments, and carrier relationships • Define and maintain the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for post-sale capabilities • Build business cases for major investments, quantify current-state costs, model outcomes, and articulate tradeoffs • Partner with leadership on market expansion planning and capability gaps • Decide between building, buying, or partnering across the benefits administration and enrollment ecosystem • Own value-stream backlogs, prioritize work, and communicate sequencing rationale • Represent capability areas in the Agile development cycle and focus teams on Objectives and Key Results • Partner with Product and Engineering to resolve dependencies • Break large investments into thin, releasable increments delivering measurable value • Manage, coach, and grow a small team of product managers • Establish consistent product practices including problem definition, success metrics, acceptance criteria, and post-launch validation • Serve as an escalation point and decision-maker • Act as the primary product voice for Sales, Operations, Client Services, and Compliance • Build working relationships with carrier partners on data exchange, eligibility feeds, and enrollment integration • Conduct continuous discovery with brokers, employer groups, and internal operations teams • Communicate progress, risks, and results to executive stakeholders • Define enrollment and post-sale performance metrics and establish Objectives and Key Results for multiple teams • Instrument shipped products, review data, and act on results, including sunsetting or reversing ineffective work
• 10+ years of product management experience, typically 10–15 years • Meaningful experience owning complex, workflow-heavy B2B and B2C products • Recent, substantive experience in insurance and employee benefits, health, ancillary, or a closely adjacent domain • Understanding of group enrollment, eligibility, carrier data exchange, and broker–GA–carrier relationships • Demonstrated people leadership managing product managers • Proven delivery of large, multi-team initiatives in an Agile-at-scale environment, including SAFe or equivalent, PI cadence, and portfolio governance • Strong analytical fluency, including defining metrics and using product analytics and operational data • Excellent written communication and ability to explain complex tradeoffs to executives in one page • Experience modernizing or replacing legacy operational workflows and managing related organizational change • Fluent daily use of AI tooling, including prototyping against MCP-connected APIs, analyzing product usage data, and drafting specifications • Preferred: track record delivering solutions across B2B and B2C value chains • Preferred: hands-on experience with benefits administration or enrollment platforms such as Employee Navigator, Ease, bswift, or PlanSource • Preferred: experience with EDI 834 and API-based carrier connectivity • Preferred: familiarity with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and state-level compliance requirements • Preferred: experience applying AI and automation to reduce manual operational work in a regulated environment • Preferred: SAFe Product Manager / POPM certification • Preferred: experience supporting geographic or segment expansion for a distribution or insurance services organization
