📋 Description

• Provide general information about UHealth System services to patients and community health care providers • Handle high-volume call center calls for scheduling patient appointments and accurately complete full patient registration • Schedule and register patients using the EPIC scheduling system across physicians, resources, specialties, and sites • Apply medical triage knowledge and insurance requirements to schedule patients with appropriate providers • Initiate pre-registration and coordinate with Central Insurance Verification and Patient Access teams • Ensure patient demographic and insurance information is accurate, complete, and up to date • Verify private patient insurance information for same-day appointments or by request • Adhere to HIPPA Privacy Office standards regarding patient privacy and confidentiality • Provide appointment and payment policy information, including medical records, parking, cash policies, anticipated charges, ancillary services, and cancellation policy • Liaise with and advocate for patients, physicians, and staff to facilitate ease of care • Identify trouble spots and problem patterns in the provision of care • Maintain working knowledge of medical symptoms, signs, and anatomical systems to identify and differentiate medical need urgency • Maintain knowledge of insurance referral requirements and third-party reimbursement criteria • Notify appropriate parties of appointment times, referral criteria, insurance verification, and prior authorization requirements • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment • Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications • Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills • Bi-lingual a plus (Spanish, Creole)
